audience could go past 640 million by 2025. The number of eSports
enthusiasts (those who watch eSports content more than once a month)
could go beyond 318 million in 2025, with a CAGR of +8% (2020-25).
Esports
is expected to generate nearly $1.38 billion in revenues globally by
the end of 2022, and China would account for nearly a third of it.
Asia-Pacific
eSports revenues are projected to grow at +17% YoY to reach $590.2
million in 2022, accounting for nearly 42% of global revenues. In the
long term, much of the growth in eSports would be attributed to emerging
markets across Southeast Asia, Latin America, the Middle East and
Africa.
Revenues from
sponsorships are the main driving force behind the eSports market.
Sponsorships alone contribute nearly 60% of the entire market,
generating $837.3 million in 2022.
