Why so serious?
Finland continues to be the happiest country in the world for the fifth consecutive year. Denmark continues to occupy second place, with Iceland up from fourth place last year to third this year.
The World Happiness Report 2022 is based on a poll where respondents from 150+ countries were asked questions to evaluate their life experiences on a scale of 0 to 10 (Cantril ladder). The best possible life being a ten to the worst possible life a zero.
The happiness report 2022 is based on six key factors that contribute to an individual's happiness:
- GDP per capita
- Social support
- Healthy life expectancy
- Freedom to make life choices
- Generosity
- Perception of corruption
