The H-1B is a 'non-immigrant' visa issued by the U.S.
government through which employers may obtain workers temporarily from
foreign countries.
H-1B is granted to the foreigners under
"speciality occupation" which means the job position must meet one of
the following criteria to qualify as a speciality occupation:-
1) a bachelor’s or higher degree or its equivalent is normally the minimum entry requirement for the position.
2)
the degree requirement is common to the industry in parallel positions
among similar organizations or, in the alternative, the position is so
complex or unique that it can be performed only by an individual with a
degree.
3) the employer normally requires a degree or its equivalent for the position.
4) the nature of the specific duties is so specialized and complex
that the knowledge required to perform the duties is usually associated with the attainment of a bachelor’s or higher degree.
In

petitions submitted by employers on behalf of foreign workers out of

accounting for 12.1% of all beneficiaries. Approved petitions for

Human Development Index ( HDI ) 2021 measures the average achievement in three basic dimensions of human development—a long and healthy life, knowledge and a decent standard of living. The health dimension is assessed by life expectancy at birth. The education dimension is measured by the mean of years of schooling for adults aged 25 years and more, along with expected years of schooling for children of school entering age. The standard of living dimension is measured by gross national income per capita. The pandemic dealt a serious blow to human development worldwide. In the 2021 index, 90% of countries saw their HDI value drop. Only a third of very high HDI countries saw a decline in 2021 (compared with over 90% in 2020), whereas HDI scores of 60% of low, medium and high HDI countries declined.
