The
declared airstrikes by the U.S in the last 20 years stands at 91,340
across seven conflict zones (Afghanistan, Iraq, Syria, Somalia, Yemen,
Pakistan and Libya).
An analysis by 'Airwars' puts the civilian
death toll between 22,679 and 48,308. This large gap is due to the
inefficient tracking of the deaths, as most of the data is collected
from various sources like local communities, civil society and
international agencies.
In the three major conflict zones-
Afghanistan, Iraq and Syria, the minimum estimates put the cumulative
death toll around 22,000 since 9/11 (11,500 in Iraq, 5,700 in Syria and
4800 in Afghanistan approx).
The deadliest year was in 2003,
during the invasion of Iraq, where at least 5,529 civilians were killed
by US actions. The next deadliest would be the year 2017, where at least
4,931 civilians were killed due to the bombings by NATO in Iraq and
Syria
